in 1926

Heavy and continuous rain was general throughout central and northern districts. Subsequently, flooding occurred at Opotiki, Cambridge, Hamilton, Otorohanga, Morrinsville and Rotorua. Rivers overflowed their banks at many locations and swamped roads, closing them to traffic.
